Fire officials suspect a faulty hot water tank led to the blaze Saturday. No one was hurt but eight cats died.
Apartment manager Christine Trodgen said all but one resident of the apartments had found temporary lodging with friends or family.
An investigation is under way by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
