My apologies if this has been posted somewhere else. I could not find it.

Is it possible to label TGIDs in ProScan so that something other that the number displays on the scanner?

Scanner: Uniden BCD325P2

Thanks in advance for any info.

I don't know Proscan, but surely it does. The free application that works with the 325 (Freescan) does it, so any application should.

I would think it would be obvious. It's the description of the talkgroup.

Yes, In the database at the channel level, edit the TGID Name. Upload the whole database to the scanner or right click the channel to upload the channel (or channels selected).

Bear in mind that, if you are seeing talkgroup IDs with only the TGID, and no corresponding text tag, then you are scanning in ID Search mode, not ID Scan.

Remember that ID Scan only stops on TGIDs that are programmed in your scanner, and that are not locked out nor are they in a system or group that is locked out.

ID Search displays any active talkgroup ID, regardless of whether or not it is programmed, proving that the TGID is not locked out, and nor is it in a system or group that is locked out.
