If your not helping to fix the issues, could you be perceived to helping to cause, or continue the problem?

I disagree with contributing info for free, and RR reselling it to other companies, I also dis agree with the whole streaming of radio comms with out consent.

Because of this, I will no longer help RR make money by my database contributions with out compensation.

We are all in this hobby together, why can't we all just get along???

I can get along, I just have a line in the sand I will no longer cross.

It is not an issue of just getting along. It is about the agenda that exists here at RR, that conflicts with what is best for the hobby.

The post above is 100% correct.

They way I understand it, Uniden paying for the RRDB allows RR to pay for the server, data centre rental, and bandwidth needed to host this forum and to help it not be completely overrun with adds.

The way I look at it, the more submissions, the better the experience for the new user who doesn't know what to program.

But back to the topic, Ladd freq should be in the areas where they are supposed to be used. I know some people who have used the DB to program radios.

IMHO the database should reflect not only what is in use, but what's in use that can be corroborated by a licence. That's why there is column for licenses.

As for the argument that they are used no different than CB/FRS/GMRS, it's important to note that in Canada none of these services require a licence, the Trucking frequencies and LMR radios using them do require a licence.

At one point I did find how much money RR was making prior to the sale or license of the RR DB to Uniden and Whistler, It was profitable then and probably more so now

Your comment made me laugh " over run with ads " it's already over run with ads

ads what ads?

Would not keeping the local RCMP channels make it a much "better experience for the new user who doesn't know what to program'? Especially with the new downloadable database scanners which make it easier for new people to get into the hobby. RR would not be catering to any one manufacture but to both manufactures as both have this capability. That was one of my thoughts a few days ago when it happened but as the decision was made before any input from use users was asked for (not that is was taken) I did not wast my time.

So its now time to go around and delete any data without a callsign ???

That would mean removal of "all" the RCMP listings in Alberta. Since it cannot be corroborated due to protected licensing. Time to remove all protected license information from the database. It is protected for a reason, not for public information. But yet it is still listed in the public domain on radio reference. So much contradicting, if only we would read what we post before posting it.

Holy crap. How about READING THE INDIVIDUAL FREQUENCY RESTRICTIONS ON THE ACTUAL LICENSE!

When you pull and READ the ACTUAL license for license number 4981501 you get:
546de7f7d1a354a3e745a7920a96f5bd.jpg

And
63602750d1a32ce037f84c5b7ee12733.jpg

And if you actually took the time to use virtual license, rather than http://tafl.mckie.ca/ and do a proper search, and knew how to interpret the results you would see that just because the license holder is in Manitoba, and includes Manitoba in his area of operation, you would see that ONLY 163.0500 is authorized for use in Manitoba.

Please stop talking about things you have ZERO understanding of. If you are going to insist on copying and pasting from a site that does not show you the frequency restriction, I will keep proving you wrong by doing screen captures of the ACTUAL licenses.

Here, I even highlighted the relevant parts of the license to help you comprehend where the basic ten frequencies are and are not allowed to be used.

Ok they only use them where they are supposed to.... NOT !

They don't care about any restrictions and use them everywhere they go and the db should reflect that fact !

So let's start publishing all the 'freeband' frequencies then... Technically they are used even though their use is illegal...

Again, go and look at the actual license... I'm betting the restrictions for EVERY SINGLE ONE YOU HAVE POSTED IS THE SAME AS THE LICENSE I JUST MARKED UP.
My guess is these guys operate their trucks out west, and have taken the time to get licensed properly for their use out here.
