LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The severe weather Monday caused damage, road closings, and other issues throughout the area.

Flooding:

The town of Edna Mills on State Road 26 East in Clinton County is being evacuated because of high, rushing water. The Clinton Emergency Management Agency director Darrell Sanders said the decision to evacuate was made at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Sanders said residents are being taken to Rossville. School buses have been brought to the east side of the town to assist in the evacuation and the Department of Natural Resources has brought in boats to help evacuate people from homes already surrounded by water.

Residents in the Capilano subdivision of West Lafayette have been stranded in their homes. The single entrance to the subdivision is underwater. Many other parts of the area have flooding potential as well.
