Is Lafayette Police still operating on their analog 800 MHz freq's or have they moved to the digital state-wide system?

Are you able to monitor that from Missouri?
I'm 800+ miles away, what do you think the answer to that would be?

I think the OP was looking for some local information.
Yeah, and I was trying to be helpful by posting a link to the appropriate database. If anyone local wanted to chime in and help, I'm sure they're free to do so.

Smarta*s much?

Guess that would a no then.

No, you were pointing to what you thought (incorrectly BTW it seems) might be an answer. Oh, and just for your information, if you ever happen to get down that a way, no one knows for sure if they are going be encrypted, that is just what the local rumor mill has generated and has been saying for the last 5 years.

No, but by any chance did you bother to go over the rules of the site lately. Take it that I am going to ignore your insult as a Christmas present.

Even if my information was incorrect (apologies to the OP), I was still trying to be helpful nonetheless. Back off dude!

Oh, I'm very clear on the site rules, however, your snide remark was uncalled for. Don't think for a minute that I'm gonna just sit back and take it. If anyone (including you) blasts me for simply trying to help another user, I will stand up and say something.

If you care to discuss this further, send me a PM. Otherwise, I'm done with this thread.

Most of Lafayette Parish is still primarily on the 800 system. Carencro Fire uses the 700 system as primary unless they are in a mutual aid situation. Everyone else is still waiting to switch over when all the necessary equipment is in place in all dispatch centers.

As far as encryption, ALL 700 talkgroups in Lafayette Parish are Encrypted with Motorola ADP encryption. This of course does not include any mutual aid talkgroups or shared talkgroups. This is not rumor, all radios have been programmed with encryption since inception, and there are no plans to discontinue it's use. So when the switch is made, they will in fact be un-monitorable.
