Bought this Laird multiband nmo antenna a while back with the ground plane kit from Scannermaster. When I took the antenna off the threaded mount, this gold piece stayed inside the antenna and now I cannot put the antenna on a nmo magnet mount. I tried using pliers, no help. Please assist me.

A careful application of some penetrating oil might be a good idea.

Looks like some water got up under there. The brass NMO base and the stainless steel antenna base didn't get a long.

Could be the angle but it looks a bit cross threaded. There is a tool that fits 2 of the 4 small pin holes and is used to tighten/loosen the mounts. Absent that, if you are careful, you might get away with a pair of needlenose pliers spread enough to catch the holes.
