They should be on the MARCS IP System.

I'm pretty sure I heard Mentor plows on 155.025 during recent snows. I know all Lake Co cities west of Mentor, plus Mentor On The Lake and Painesville TWP still use their analog (non-trunked) PW freqs. Unless I'm mistaken, Lake County Road Dept (TG 27703) does not maintain individual city side streets and such.

OOPS, I am mistaken. I paid more attention to Lake County Road Dept (TG 27703) and it sounds like they plow all sorts of roads in Perry, Madison, and Leroy TWP. Anybody know for sure what cities they cover?

Technically there is no such agency called the Lake County Road Department.

The road maintenance division of the Lake County Engineers Office handles plowing on county roads in unincorporated areas of the county. In the townships there are three different agencies plowing the roads: The township road departments on township roads, the engineers office on county roads and ODOT on state routes.

Here's a list of county roads: http://www.lakecountyohio.gov/Portals/22/Road list for Website.pdf

In an effort to improve efficiency the engineers office and some of the townships have entered into agreements to swap plowing duties on some roads. The roads listed as 'Snow Only' in this list are township roads where the engineers office has agreed to perform snow plowing.

And to only confuse things further, the county and state have some sort of agreement that the county maintains State Rt 2.

As far as Mentor is concerned I cannot comment since I am too far away to monitor that frequency. What I can say is Madison Village Road Dept. is still on their low band frequency so I wouldn't be surprised if other municipalities did not switch over to MARCS IP either.

Yep, Lake County Engineers and Concord Twp Services are the only "road depts" I've heard on MARCS IP and the rest (at least in western Lake Co) still use their VHF analog freqs.

KF8YK, thanks for the Lake County Engineers info.
