Lake County P25 coverage

Hello, I am visiting the area and am staying at Mid Florida Lakes near Grand Island. I am using a Uniden BC396 digital trunking scanner. I can only pick up the north simalcast system, and that is so weak the scanner will not lock in on anything. I have tried an external mobile antenna, which provides little improvment. Is this normal for this area?

It is not normal. The Lake system is very strong. I can receive the North site in South Marion co. in my mobile with 1/4 wave on roof.
