Is anyone monitoring the train wreck up in Lake County?

Any MARCS traffic up north?

I've been hearing them talking on ECOMM9 on MARCS and I'm in Gallia County, CLEAR DOWN on the other end of the state. Been hearing their traffic since around 9:00PM this evening.

Been very interesting!

Here's the TV coverage from WKYC TV.... http://www.wkyc.com/

I haven't been paying too much attention to the radios since this incident started. However, I have noticed a dramatic decrease in RR traffic along the CSX tracks that run behind my house. We heard a few last night. But, not much.

I can only imagine the crimp that something like this puts on to the RR industry.

I heard it in Columbus Also. They activated the Statewide Emergency Respone Plan and had Columbus FAO has the Central point for a couple hours before they closed it down. They were affraid the LP tank car was going to blow up.

They tried to run marcs... but what i got from dispatcher friends that it didnt work too well. I moniterd the whole thing and it was pretty much a cluster f***. Ever hear the expression too many chiefs for too little indians. It goes with the white hats too. I think there were 20 white hats there within the first hour.
