Brian,

"LCS" refers to "general communications" Talk Groups for the Lake County Sheriff, to distinguish them from specifically traffic related comms on the Highway Patrol Talk Groups. I've only heard comms on those TGs two or three times in six months (others may report different experience).

"CID" is probably detectives - no guarantee - based on the common LEA and military reference to Criminal Investigation Division/Department. I've never heard a comm on this TG....

The CID is dectives but theres little talk on that unless theres a shooting mostly by phone. You hear them talk and ask the dispact to open CID channel and when there done I've heard them to ask dispatch to close the channel. But not offten. And LCS1 was used last weekend at the fair in Grayslake. And when a child went missing on Sunday they said it on LCS1 and Reserve Dep. too the same Command Officer.
