FRISCO (AP) - Divers searched Dillon Reservoir Monday for former Colorado lawmaker Bryan Sullivant, who was last seen in a small boat on the lake Saturday, officials said.

Sullivant, 51, had boarded a dinghy to go to his 28-foot sailboat moored in the reservoir about 50 miles west of Denver when he disappeared, the Summit County Sheriff's Department said.

Summit County Dive Rescue searched around the sailboat with underwater cameras Sunday night and Monday.

Sullivant, a Republican, was elected three times to the Colorado House before he was appointed in February 1999 to fill the seat of state Sen. Tony Grampsas, a Breckenridge Republican who died.

In August of 2000, Sullivant said he would not run for re-election, saying he needed to earn more money.

Body enroute Jeffco Morgue

BRECKENRIDGE (AP) - Divers found a body in Dillon Reservoir Monday believed to be that of former state legislator Bryan Sullivant, who's been missing since Saturday night.

The Summit County Sheriff's Department says the body was discovered shortly after noon near Sullivant's 28-foot sailboat moored at Frisco Bay Marina.

Sullivant was last seen heading toward his sailboat in a dinghy. Marina workers found the capsized dinghy yesterday.

Sheriff's investigators say there's no sign of foul play and the incident appears to be an accident.

The sheriff's department says the coroner will make a positive identification of the body and determine the cause of death.

Summit County Undersheriff Derek Woodman said this was the first boating fatality on the Dillon Reservoir since the mid-1980s.

The 51-year-old Sullivant lived in Breckenridge. He was a Republican lawmaker elected three times to the Colorado House before he was appointed in February of 1999 to a vacant seat in the state Senate.
