Lake Dunlap... New Braunfels? Guadalupe Cty.?

I live not 3 damn blocks from the Lake Dunlap Area Volunteer Fire Department and have never heard any traffic from them on a New Braunfels, Comal Cty., or Guadalupe Cty. frequency. Does anyone know who the hell tones these guys out for duty? I's assume Guadalupe Cty. since that is the cty. that the majority of their jurisdiction is in. I guess if no one answers I'll walk my lazy ass down the street and have them key up there radio but there's no fun in that. Then they know we listen to 'em and they'll have a clue when I start putting up the high water crossing signs before them of who's doing it.

I can't give you a for sure answer, but I would try listening to the Cibilo/Converse/Live Oak EDACS or the LCRA EDACS systems. If they are dispatched by Guadalupe County, I seem to remember the SO doing page-outs for meeting reminders on Monday or Tuesday evenings. Just try listening and seeing if you hear them getting paged with the other VFDs in the area. If you haven't listened in a while, the VFD freqs for Guadalupe co changed about a year ago...

Yep. Lake Dunlap is dispatched by Guadalupe Co SO on Fire Channel 2

155.07000 351 DPL Fire Dispatch 2 (West)

You will also find New Berlin on this frequency also. Most other county departments use 155.985 Fire Dispatch 1 (East)

Lake Dunlap, McQueeney, Marion, Geronimo, Kingsbury,York Creek are typically users on the Guadalupe County Fire Channel 1 and New Berlin, Sand Hills, County Line are usually found on Guadalupe County fire Channel 2. You will hear dispatch on both channels (simul select)upon dispatch and then the SO dispatcher can select at the console to only transmit on selected channel (either one or two). In that river bottom, neither fire channel comes in real well, so you might listen to both channels to figure out which one will work better for you. For Lake Dunlap, once they are dispatched to an EMS assist type call, they will work on a multitude of channels available to them, The tac channels for on scene work, Schertz EMS channel for patient reports and the above mentioned fire channel one for comms with the SO dispatch. THey are all listed under guadalupe county on this website.

If you hear a DTMF sequence (phone dialing) type noises, you are hearing Lake Dunlap. Not sure why they have that but that is a good way of knowing that you are hearing Lake Dunlap

A couple of guesses:
The tone is used to activate certain pagers.
It is a Kenwood system that uses a DTMF tone to identify the transmitting radio(s), or to activate certain radios.

is FD2 digital? I know that it is licensed for either analog or digital.

Lakedunlap Area VFD

We are dispatched by GCSO and we do answer are radio's. We runn about 180 calls a year. You can hear us and all other fire departments in the county by scaning these chanels.

155.98500 or 155.07000.

This will help you out alot.
