Does Geauga still tone everything out on 46.14 or do they use a different freq depending on which FD is getting toned?
Geauga fire department alerts transmitted from the Sheriffs Office are multicast on all four frequencies (46.02, 46.08, 46.14, 46.40). No need to scan all of them, just pick the strongest one, they all carry the same traffic.
A few exceptions:
Chardon FD is dispatched by the Sheriff on the lowband multicast or by Chardon Police dispatch on 46.14 (CSQ) and 154.515 (D174)
Bainbridge FD is dispatched on 154.34 (114.8) by either the Sheriffs office or Bainbridge Police dispatch
Auburn FD is dispatched on 154.43 (114.8) by the Sheriffs Office.
Also, what Lake County FDs still use lowband since Central went to the new paging system?
As far as I know only the Lake County central dispatch center installed a new alerting system. Departments not using 'Central' for dispatch use low band or something else like a ring down or hardwire public address. I still hear the following:
Mentor, MOTL 46.14
Willoughby 46.36
Lake central dispatches the following departments on the
new alerting system:
Concord, Fairport Harbor, Grand River, Leroy, Madison Fire District, Painesville City, Painesville Township, and Perry Fire District
