Okay, so I'm listening to Ch. 16 here in the the Sector Milwaukee area when there is a distress call that the CG can barely copy. They give out their phone number and calmly say - "Call us".

Anybody here been out in the lake far enough to loose cell coverage. It does seem that out in the middle, there is a 'dead zone' in normal coverage. Anyone have real world experience out there? I have a friend who sails Lake Michigan, I'll ask him next time I see him, but that may be a while.
