I recently stayed a few nights at Lake Waramaug campground and noticed that while the CSP intellirepeater signal located at the camp was super strong as expected, no audio was heard from it. Occasional choppy/digital audio from another troop L site (New Milford likely) was heard but nothing from this one.

Stopped here back in May and had great Troop L coverage.

Anyone local that can verify/deny or shed some light on what's up?

Not confirming this is how that site is setup... But typically an intellirepeater is for gap fill in. It has a limited number of voice paths, and will only broadcast a talk group when a radio is actively affiliated on it. If there are no troopers in the area or a main site is showing a better RSSI value the intellirepeater is silent.

The last time I was there when it had audio was during a regatta and there were many CSP and Encon units in the area all day. So what you say makes sense.

I'll add an 800 MHz yagi and mast to the packing list for my next visit and book a site far from the antenna.

Thanks for your help..
