Lake Zurich IL Freq.

Hello, I am new to this site and have found a lot of good information so far. For anyone that listens to communities in Lake County I need your help. I usually listen to Lake Zurich,Kildeer,Hawthorn Woods PD and I hear their main dispatch 470.7375 and I see the listings for their F2 and Car to Car but I hear nothing day or night? Not sure if they don't use them or the freq. is incorrect? Could someone help me?
I use a Radio Shack handheld 200 channel right now
159.045 - Kildeer/Hawthorn Woods LG/Pd Talkaround
477.3875 97.4 Police “Tac 2”

LZPD does use Tac 2 (477.3875) but just not as often.

477.3875 (AKA "F2") Is used for special events throughout the year such as alpine fest, high school football games and 4th of July. If something big is going on, during a regular patrol units involved will switch to F2 in order to keep the main channel clear. You will also occasionally (about 1 or 2 times a year)hear detectives conducting special operations on that channel. The Kildeer frequency you are talking about is almost never used anymore, it was a mobile to mobile channel, but i don't believe it's in use anymore due to Nextel.

Thanks for the good information. I thought I was loosing my mind or my antenna wasn't working well. If you have any good channels to listen too in Southern Lake County please don't hesitate to post them.
