It does help that I'm using the stock antenna also, so could that be my issue also?

And may I suggest more info...
Like what radio are you using...
The more info you give makes it better for you to get an answer...

Word of advice to the OP: Any time you see an uppercase "E" anywhere in the mode column, this means full Encryption as denoted in bold red below. A lowercase "e" would indicate partial encryption but there's no example of that here. In the event a trunked system is involved encrypted talkgroups would read "DE" or "TE" where in comparison "D" and "T" without an upper or lowercase "E" would indicate a "clear" talkgroup. Hope this makes sense

Are the applicable service types turned on? (see "Tag" column in table I provided in Post #6) Also ensure the channels aren't avoided. If fire & EMS are only putting out the 20 to 25 watts they're licensed for then you may need an antenna upgrade from 15 to 16 miles out if no joy using stock while outdoors pointing antenna in Lakewood's direction. Also set your squelch to 2

Hear lakewood FD all over, was hearing them almost to the Driscoll Bridge today. They have a fine signal. Make sure you are using a P25 (digital) scanner/receiver.

I was using a Relm KNG p400 radio, but I was able to get both Lakewood Fire and EMS as Rt 70 WB by the Wawa at Rt 530. The next time I heard traffic I was 70 WB at the Burlington County line and EMS had difficulty coming in due to the topography.
