Hello all,
I've been logging the new Lakewood P25 system off and on since it came online and compiled a list of unknowns that I thought I'd share. Feel free to chime in with any observations!

325
1004 Radio techs
1008 Radio techs
37088 Wheat Ridge DPW radios seen affiliating
37092
37096 Wheat Ridge DPW radios seen affiliating
37099 Wheat Ridge DPW radios seen affiliating
37170
37292 Radio techs testing, discussing tower sites/channel numbers
37293 Radio techs testing
37324 Radio techs testing
37339
37387
37523 Encrypted
37564 Denied on T101 (I think this might be a Lakewood Code Enforcement TG)
37777
37778
37779
37780
37806
37817
37818
37829
37830

I'm also seeing some errant TG's with six digits like "299492" but I think this is just something aberrant with the program or system. I've also logged several patch talkgroups in the two digit range but haven't quite figured out if there's a rhyme or reason for the way they're assigned.

299492 is used as the 'queue' when a radio tries to key up over an already active talk group call. The patch talk groups run from 41 through 80 and are just used sequentially for each patch. For instance, if the first patch between two TGs uses 41, the next patch that is set up by a dispatcher will use 42, then the next uses 43, and so on. They don't correlate to any particular patching of any particular group combinations. When talk groups are patched, Harris systems broadcast that those groups use a different talk group, which are pooled from the patch talk groups between 41 and 80.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I'm still getting the hang of these new Harris P25 systems. In some ways they act like Motorola systems and in others like EDACS. The patching sounds sort of like Motorola's Dynamic Regrouping which was a function on the old Type II systems. At least I know now that there's no point in trying to label the individual patches anymore.

Hmmm...821 or 06-065 to us old guys.

Digging back through my dusty accordian file (not kidding) and finding a print-out from trunkedradio.net (circa 2003), tells me 06-064 (820) was a patch to South Metro and 06-065 (821) was "Emergency Ops 3".

I thought 821 was one of WM's training talk groups?

Sorry - going under the previous assumption of Dec TG added to "37". 821 used to be Emergency Ops 3.
Also, if that's the case, the Training TGs would most likely all be 3780x.

Also, 37170 may be the tornado sirens (not sure if those radios followed the PD to P25 or not)

*CORRECTION* Sirens would be 12-??? or 15xx

I haven't caught any voice on 37821 yet, just radio affiliations so far. I did have 821 marked in my notes on the old system as a Fairmount FD Tactical patch, no idea if this is still true on the new system.

Also no voice on the 37170 TG yet either. I wonder how Lakewood is transferring over the four digit TG's? It looks like in Wheat Ridge's case they just lopped off the leading "1" making 1107 into 37107 and so on. So if the old tornado sirens were 15xx, would they be 375xx? Or would that potentially conflict with bringing over the 5xx series DPW TG's?

I'll keep an eye on both of these for sure, maybe park a scanner on one to see if I can catch any voice. Thanks for the info!

Heard the radio techs testing to two TG's just about 10 mins ago and those where 161101 and 161102, and one the Pro96com program one of those showed up as PrivateData with voice, just the normal test one, two, three.

So some quick updates for the list:

37821: Caught some Pridemark EMS traffic on this one. I think this might be related to Fairmount FD, but since activity is so intermittent its hard to say.

37088: Heard "Police Dispatch" calling for some sort of spell (stell? I don't know...I don't think I heard this right, but it sounded like "spell") unit twice with no response. From the sound of it "Police Dispatch" is Wheat Ridge PD dispatch.

37096: Heard "Wheat Ridge Police Dispatch" calling for a "Parks Vehicle" that was parked outside on the lot. Called once identifying as "Police Dispatch" then again as "Wheat Ridge Police Dispatch" with no response. Guessing this one is for Wheat Ridge Parks & Rec?

37323: More radio testing occurring with techs sounding off test counts. It almost sounded like this talkgroup was patched when I was hearing this activity. No real idea what the plan for this one is yet.

More as I figure them out...

Also, if anyone is actively logging the system for more unknowns feel free to throw them up here. I've taken the scanner I was using for logging off-line to be used to track voice for the known unidentified groups only so I have no idea what new ones might be popping up.

Edited just to add: Also might want keep an eye on the 854.1875 PL156.7 frequency. I've been getting intermittent mic clicks on it after all that testing happened the other day.

Some radio testing going on on 37323 right now. Audio sounds patched and the same Radio ID keeps appearing.

I started logging the system again and found some more unidentifieds:

387
37102
37339
37340

I'm hearing some fire training on 37808 right now, I'm guessing this is a West Metro training TG.

Great! I'm sure we can expect to see some testing activity on that one since it was just issued two days ago. The 854.1875 frequency has fallen silent. Most likely due to the interference from another agencies EDACS system that bleeds over onto the frequency in and around the Lakewood area. I've never logged anything on the other frequency, 854.6875, but it couldn't hurt to keep them all plugged in while things get sorted out. Thanks for the heads up!
