Haha!Yeah I've noticed that too! Not dissing your feed in any way because I've heard worse! But when some units talk, I hear a buzzing distortion on some transmissions, usually near the end. Is that a actual radio issue as well?

There is a buzz/hum on mostly all the feeds. You'll hear this when no one talks. But while talking, I'm not sure.

I know standing near someone talking on a radio their message got kind of funny and then my radio didn't pick them up for maybe a second and a half.

So maybe 50/50 chance it's the scanner. I know a scanner won't preform like an actual radio though too.

Your 100% right on the last part! The feed is top notch! Like I stated, some on here, you can't even make out whats being said! As for Radios, I've also heard County ask units to repeat. Some audio was pure garble! Time will tell and feedback on radio performance as well as other factors will roll in at some point in time!

Yeah one thing I took notice to is if the radio talking sounds like crap when listening with another radio. The scanner picks it up horribly.

Now when I use the scanner to listen to York county, it's crystal clear with very little issue. So I am sure as time goes on, it should get better.

So someone submitted a problem with the feed for being muffled. Which is true at times.

I was listening to the school assignment call using a radio. I couldn't understand some of them with that, and they sounded horrible on the feed.

I'm trying to figure out what to do to tweak it. County when talking sound crystal clear some other users sound clear. So I'm thinking its portables? Not sure.

Agreed, since most of the mobiles probably aren't programmed yet. Tu-way is months behind.

Did you get a chance to listen with a radio today by any chance?

I agree that it does sound muffled, but it's incredibly hard to tweak it, since county is crystal clear and other users are sounding "ok".

I know we just got our portables reprogrammed and mobiles will be awhile out yet.

I was listening on both today. Not sure what tweaking is available or what it would do.

Indeed. I adjusted the line in audio and adjusted the scanner volume to offset people talking too close to the mic.

I still think it's a radio issue.

Three of us earlier were standing near each other. One person was talking and on my radio they got garbled and on the other persons radio they were clear.

Lancaster Co is using mostly Relm radios. I believe York Co is using Harris and Berks is all Motorola. Most agencies bought Relm because it was a lot cheaper. I wonder why. I dont know much about the Relms, but as with most products, cheaper often means lower quality. I dont thnk there are even any Relm dealers in the state.

100% agree on that! You get what you pay for! Not saying Moto is top dog (Moto has there heads up their @$$es for most things anymore) but for some things, its good to go with a will known, trusted brand!

I'm thinking it portables as well. Mobiles are doing fine it seems! And the county end of it seems fine! I had your feed up for most of the day and I heard county say to try again, they couldn't make out a ambos portable. And later on the asked a chief if he was OK, due to many key-ups. Now yes, the key-up part may have been "Play Time" I know when my county went P25 Conventional, we had a "Play around with your radio(s) today, going live tomorrow" Day.

Indeed. Late last night, I tweaked with the audio settings again so people who are speaking loudly aren't washed out. It sounds better, hopefully as time goes on, it'll get better.

But yeah there are alot of times county is asking people to repeat.

Another thing for anyone keeping track of radio ID's. It seems like the ID's are somewhat similar to the Agency ID. I believe it is up to the agency how they want their radio programmed because not everyone is like that.

Is anyone else having issues today receiving transmissions? I seem to be hearing a significant amount more via radio than via scanner. It hold on the TG, but no UID or voice for some of them. I noticed this issue while at the house and out and about mobile.

Yesterday it was pretty close...when I heard it on the radio, it was coming across the scanner as well.

Side question: Any 996XT users, have you been successful in getting the threshold from "Auto" and "8" to "Man" and any value to stay changed through the upload. I change it in FreeScan and save. Upload to the scanner and it is right back to "Auto" and "8".

i have been listening since yesterday afternoon, there are a few garbles now and then , programed 2096 last evening and listened mobile all day today, the system is not that bad, york co had issues in the beginning i am listening to fire , fire police and ems. i have one scanner on outdoor antenna and one on stock antenna they are doing about the same performance. audio is good, but will most likely improve over time, like i said york had issues in the beginning

I'm listening to the OPS 10 channel on the feed and comparing it against an actual radio. The feed sounds better then the other day. I guess the tweaks helped. I know county was talking about radio maintence yesterday so I don't know.

Wow. Anyone else having problems picking up the system?

Earlier they said they were having radio problems. Wonder what happened.

Yesterday I thought the system sounded good. I was kind of impressed. Today I noticed that it didn't sound good most of the day although I think it may be better now. I heard someone say about problems with Dispatch C.

Yeah yesterday when using a portable it didn't sound too great.

My 436 and 536 had some issues picking it up. The one OPS channel, someone barely came across, but a unit asked the other person to repeat because they didn't get it either.

Hopefully today is better
