I don't know a ton of details about York (after their initial migration to t band) but neither system should need a total replacement. Only the RFSS should need to be migrated with the cores, consoles, etc being able to be reused. That generally is about 1/3 the total system cost.

Any word on updated scanner programming for the system yet? The NE cluster is due for reprogramming tonight.

I've been curious about this as well since I host the feed.

Reading the email from LCWC it said the radios were already programmed so they'll just jump to the new stuff.

I know no one has reprogrammed our radios since like July.

Sooo maybe the freqs that are in the database are good to go already?

If not, then the county isn't transparent. They said they'd post the stuff, well they know ahead of time what freqs it would be so no reason it shouldn't have been posted.

The way I read the email, the radios would receive the new frequencies OTA the next time they are powered up after the cluster is reprogrammed. Only a 5 second process to push the info.

Yeah I just re read the email and read that too.

So now I'm not sure.

Hopefully someone updates the database quickly.

You might need to request that from the County, it appears they are only changing the receive Freq so obviously they aren't going to be implicit anymore.

I believe each subscriber will handle them differently. Some will remember the changes and reprogram themselves and other might need to relearn each time they are turned on. Now that the weather is changing it will be interesting on how this works.

Hey Folks,
There will be no change to the monitoring method as the output channels remain the same. It should be transparent to us listeners.

I am receiving the NE site with no issue.

Freq Swap

The above posted link above is correct. I didn't see anything else that was a
recent change regarding frequencies.
Don't know where the idea originated regarding swapping out input frequencies
but if I understand all the government paper including three attachment letters, they
opted to license 52 new frequencies in the 500-505 Mhz portion of the band
and return the previous ones to the commission. This license also appears to
only effect the Georgetown/Gap site.
Be sure to read all three attachments which cover the engineering data and
other information relating to the change.

ULS License - Public Safety Pool, Trunked License - WQWS988 - LANCASTER, COUNTY OF

I'm too far away to hear the system to confirm the change has been implemented.
Gotta be someone in the area who can run Unitrunker or Pro96Com to have a look...

From what I gather the south zone of towers will be "reprogrammed" tonight.
3/13 - South cluster rebanding
3/14 - Central cluster rebanding
3/15 - Northwest cluster rebanding

From what I've read/heard, the Northeast rebanding went smoothly. After all clusters are rebanded, there will be a 30 day period of monitoring and testing to see if the rebanding process alleviated the interference issue.

Just shift it off a day. I believe South was done last night 3/14, Central (3/15) and NW (3/16)

Is anyone else having an issue with their radios not acquiring an IP address from the system or getting the "Access Denied" message and deny tone?

None of our radios (Relm Base, Relm Portables, Tait Mobiles) are acquiring IP's. We are also getting random Denied Access messages and deny tones. Also the intermittent radio not receiving transmissions.

I have a P25 Radio Issue Form being submitted in the morning when I get to a fax machine, documenting today's issues as the County wants.

Sounds like a Data Channel issue.

We had that issue and some similar ones for a while a few weeks ago. Called county each time we had a status change, responding, on scene and whatever.

There was a Talk Group Invalid error too.

I'm not picking up the system anymore on my pro-2096...I was under the impression the freq changes were for input only. Did the outputs change?
