Any updates?
Did Motorola protest? Maybe that's the hold up.
Any updates?
Thanks,
Also does anyone know of a radio spec sheet? There has to be one out there for the departments using the grant to buy radios for the system, and if they choose to buy more for themselves .
From what I have been told, TAIT is the radio of choice and some company out of Allentown (Tuway Communications) I believe is the official installer of the radios.

Lanco bought some Tait mobiles through a grant program and Tuway is the official sales arm of Tait radios in PA.. Hence the install piece falling into their laps.
But Tait is apparently not the radio of choice in Lancaster after all.
Relm? Yowza...

So I tagged along with someone to the EMS thing at the training center. inside Haz-MAT there are some low band radios and then some other ones.
Anyone know what system they are used for? I attached a picture of it.
The specs state :
"Frequency range
VHF: 136–162, 146–174MHz; UHF: 403-440, 438-470, 465-495MHz"
They had other radios marked low band, and had a decent amount of these.
I'm aware of the OpenSky issue but I will be out that way next month for a week or two and want to know if the Lancaster area is still on VHF Hi-Band or have they moved elsewhere?
This information is directly from the LCWC Website and their Youtube page. Very nicely done if you ask me.

They are different from Dauphin, which got suckered into a clause in their 3 year system maitnence plan with motorola that only allows moto radios on the infrastructure while its under maitnence and tech support contract.
I do not think York is legally locked into Harris mobiles and hh's but just choose to have all harris radios on the system.
Lancaster's goal is to make a system that actually has many different venders radios used together, which is rarely done on county trs's. They are trying to make up for the mess that was caused from the opensky island mess. they are pushing the "open standard' concept strongly this time around.
