In Lancaster County when they dispatch an emergency (usually I hear this more on a fire call) what is a squad? Are they referring to an ambulance or a rescue engine piece of fire equipment? It's so confusing because I come across this same situation at home in jersey. One county calls the ambulance a squad, and a neighboring county refers to a piece of fire equipment as a squad.

Basically a "Squad" in Lancaster County is utilized to carry manpower & equipment. Some of the squads are Ford F-350 Power Stroke Diesel. There is a mixture. There are two companies in the county that call their crown vics squads......
