when the RTO puts out an information only broadcast (ex, firecrackers heard) is an incident number assigned? do all tele service calls into LAPD get assigned an incident number?

I know nothing about LAPD. But many public safety systems have 2 numbers that can be assigned.

They have a Event/Call number assigned to everything they enter in cad.
Then they have an Incident number that is only assigned to things that require units to write a report on.

All incidents would also have the orginal call numbers.

Both LAPD and LASD log everything. Things like vehicle and pedestrian stops that are entered recorded by the dispatcher or officer/deputy receive an incident number. LASD has unique incident (Tag numbers) for each station while LAPD'S are department-wide.

Ive noticed that the LAPD incident numbers start over around midnight and the number grows as the morning/day progresses. It's surprising how the number jumps in just 1 hour due to the incident numbers being city-wide.
