If I am listening to the LAPD radio scanners, how would one identify a K9 unit? What would there call sign be? Thank you for the assistance.

The letters "K9" will be included in their callsign (radio identifier). Most times, you'll just hear something along the lines of "hey air unit, it's K9. You have 3 dogs en route to you".

You may also hear the LAX K9 identifier of 3DK9 followed by their unit number
