A friend of mine, a Lapeer deputy, had to turn in his handheld to add encryption last weekend.

I've been monitoring the St Clair site with DSD+ this morning and I've logged some Lapeer calls (44P911A) and it wasn't logged as being encrypted...

I've been picking up encryption on new TG's with Lapeer Co central dispatch and lapeer county radio IDs for the last few weeks.
I think one TG was 22926.
DSD said "Enc Alg=ADP"
They're probably using the same as Genesee for interop.

Between OpenSky in Oakland, Genesee and now Lapeer going encrypted there's a heck of a lot less to listen to.
I wonder what county will be next?

I can rx the Lapeer system. I'll pull it up later and see if they made the switch and if they did, what TGs.

Fire and Police are encrypted and they changed TG's too.

TG/RID
22894 2009647, 9443174
22926 2009648, 9444398

Pulling up RID records from DSD, RIDs 2009647 and 9443174 were logged on the old 44FE911 (2769), and 44E911 (2998).

RIDs 2009648 and 9444398 were logged on the old 44P911A (2752).

So based on radio IDs:
22894 is the new encrypted FD TG
22926 is the new encrypted PD TG

I did hear clear transmissions still on TG 2998 44E911 so EMS is still in the clear I suppose. At least on this TG.

Also getting (encrypted):

TG/RIDs
22911 2009649, 9444480
22922 9443709 9443705

All radio IDs were previously logged on old 44P911A (2752). So these are unknown use PD TGs.

This really sucks.

I wonder why the need to change talkgroups vs just checking the secure box on the current ones...

Can we get say a list or maybe a submission from someone listening there for talkgroups no longer in use? So far I put 2752,2753 to deprecated. Im out of range but the online one says it scans those and has been quiet actually for days.

I am willing to help out in my spare time.
The only clear traffic I heard was TG 2998 EMS and there are still some clear units using 2769 (44FE911), but that's a weird one because no one replied back to them on 44FE911. However after the clear calls to central on 2769, Enc TG 22864 would pop up with a central dispatch RID.

With all the TG changes, it will take a while to map them out going by radio IDs used on the old clear TGs. At least this will tell what's used by police or fire. I will run dsd on the Lapeer CC this weekend to get a better scope of what TGs are used now or not.

Judging by the volume of traffic and radio IDs I am fairly confident 22864 is fire dispatch and 22926 is police dispatch.

Logged another new encrypted TG (22914)
RID 9444148

Apparently, Lapeer County decided to do a complete overhaul of their radio template(s), rather than just checking the secure box on each talkgroup. This could become a new trend on the MPSCS, and other similar radio systems.

What's still unencrypted:
On the PS side, just a little cross patching between various FD and EMS. Mostly one sided tranmissions from the old fire incident groups and 44E911.

All the old police TGs are gone.

The new ones are in the 22870-22928 range.
