I read online that Lapeer Co will upgrade the Motorola Type II to the Astro 6.1 system. I'm not sure if this is true. Can anyone confirm the rumor for me?

Would my BC250D recieve the ASTRO communications?

No, you would need the BC296D handheld, or the BC796D base/mobile unit. Also, the Radio Shack Pro-96 will decode the 9600 baud data channel.

Maybe by the time they actually upgrade and have it working all the digital scanners will have come down in price..... hoping at least.
