Does anyone know if the county fire tac channels use any PL at all, or if all are CSQ?

Are they still in use even though each district has a WyoLink TG?

Is the listing correct in the database?

hi, yes they are CSQ TX/RX. some things might change as TAC 1 is VFIRE21
if they have changed that in the radios is unknown there goto is usually TAC2.
155.715 is still used for there page out frequency with the towers and PL's listed.
then they use the wyolink once on scene they might go to the tac's

Just an FYI, if any people are looking into the Vcall/Vtac channels, they are nationally supposed to be setup as CSQ on the receive and be mixed mode.

On transmit however, they are ALL supposed to transmit 156.7hz tone.

Don't know why, but that is the way APCO set it up.

Incorrect. APCO did not set up those channels and they are not mixed mode. They are secondary channels to previously licensed users and under NIFOG they are PL'd with 156.7 with the request that the radio be able to disable the PL. The thought being that if a radio was accidently programmed csq or with the wrong pl it can still be heard by other radios.

In reality people have been programming their radios for tx/rx 156.7 or tx 156.7/csq.

TAC channels

You will sometimes hear TAC 1 referred to as VFIRE21 now. It is still the same frequency. At one time all the TAC channels were going to change to the new VFIRE and VMED channels but it never got done. I load my radios with 156.7 PL TX and CSQ on RX.

I got a look at the template, and the fielded radios are programmed as Tac 1/2/3/4.

The state maintains a statewide license for the first channel. If that will change what Laramie does, most likely not. 2/3/4 are licensed to the county.
