Investigating Sunday's homicide
By Boomerang Staff
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 34–year-old man Sunday night.
According to a press release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday the sheriff’s office received a report of a deceased male subject inside his trailer home at 782 Wyoming Highway 230, seven miles west of Laramie. Deputies located the man, later identified as Carlos Guzman-Luna, a 34-year-old man living in Laramie but originally from Mexico. According to the release, Guzman-Luna was “deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.”
A full forensic autopsy was completed in Loveland, Colo., Monday afternoon, according to Albany County Coroner Tom Furgeson. Lt. Mike Garcia from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said it may be a few weeks before the final autopsy report is complete.
The preliminary investigation by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that Guzman-Luna was in an altercation with another subject about 5 a.m. Sunday.
The sheriff’s office is looking for Jose Rodriguez-Hernandez, a 27-year-old Mexican national, for information he may have regarding the death of Guzman-Luna.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rodriguez-Hernandez is asked to contact dispatch at 721-2526.
The investigation is continuing, and more information will be released as the case develops.
For whatever reason, there was quite a bit of activity that night. This particular incident was taking most of the SO away, and there was also a guy that died in the Northern part of town which required a fair amount of investigation for some reason or other. Of course, the damn Boomerang won't be bothered to carry that story, as it might require them to actually get off their butts and be journalists.
