Large generator shipment moving through Brazos Valley

An extremely large and heavy generator moving convoy is moving through Brazos county right now on its way to Riesel, TX, originating from the Port of Houston.
Anyway wanted to pass along some freqs to listen to if you're in the pathway:
Mammoet (the moving company) is using 165.125 pl 131.8 (At least this is what close call comes up with, Sounds a little cleaner 5kc down 165.120. I am unfamiliar with the new narrow band splits in this band.)
The LE escort (sheriff dept--Harris co?) is using 867.5125 pl 156.7

Some more info...

The device moving this load is not really a trailer. It is a bed made up of dozens of modular, hydraulically powered dollies. Each of these dollies is capable of being operated independently from the others. The vehicle is controlled by an operator walking alongside with a handheld control box, which is why it is so slow.

I would also recommend paying close attention to DPS Bryan, Brazos County SO, College Station Police, and Bryan Police for radio traffic. I just entered that 165.125 in (it won't accept 165.120) and I'll see what happens.

That's an 800MHz NPSAC frequency so this is a great use of an interoperability frequency. Most agencies along the route should have access to this...

It's heading to McLennan County (Riesel, TX as n5gqb posted), to the Sandy Creek Energy Station. The website says the steam generator is a Toshiba (what doesn't Toshiba make?).

I just got stuck behind this thing at Rock Prairie and Hwy 6. This thing is huge. There are about 5 motorcycle units working traffic with this thing, but none looked like they were from here. 165.1250 is working, but it's hard to understand them.

Edit: No one was walking next to it controlling it. There is a seat on the front and rear. The controllers are almost laying back in their seats. The one guy who was walking looked to be relaying information to the others.

I stand corrected. They tend to do this with smaller loads going shorter distances. By the way, I think Mammoet is a European company (Sweden?). It actually means mammoth in Swedish, I think (they specialize in moving really, really, really big things--like buildings and large equipment). They once showed something about this transport device on the Science Channel.

It will cut across OSR to FM 46, then North to Franklin. In Franklin, it will turn left (West) onto U.S. 79, and continue to SH 6. There it will somehow re-direst to the North, and continue North on SH 6 to Riesel. They will come off the overpass at U.S. 79, and SH 6 headed South. I don't know if they can unhook the tractors, and pull it from the opposite end or not. Otherwise, it will be interesting to see how they make a nearly 360 degree turn with it. It will pass by my Robertson County property,and may even have to stop in that area for the night. Will be in the area, and post anything I find that may be of interest here. Have the above freq in my radios now, and listening.

To further expand on my initial post, yea they were slightly fuzzy on 165.125. They actually sounded better on 165.120 and 165.11875 using the 6.25 kc split. However the close call on my radio (no matter what step size I used) always defaulted to 165.125, plus I know anyone can enter that freq on their radio. Someone else mentioned they are a Netherland based company and to check also in the 460-461 area.
They also had several utility trucks with them raising lines, removing signal poles, etc for clearance. So city utility crews were not involved. I did not get their freq.

You might want to try the TxDOT Bryan channel (151.0025/PL127.3). If not that, then try 154.950. I haven't heard anything on that channel in a while, but it might be in use. It's possible that you saw TxDOT trucks assisting. A good way to tell is if they have red striping across the tailgate and blue and amber strobes. I do know that they have several bucket trucks that they use for signal repair, and it wouldn't surprise me the least since the roads that they are using are state-maintained.
