Larimer County 2X fatal, as paged

TIME: 3:35 P.M.
LOCATION: Larimer County Road #42 and Larimer County Road# 23. ( Approximately 1/2 mile west of Laporte, CO.)

The Colorado State Patrol is currently on the scene of a double fatal crash involving a motorcycle. A male and female have sustained fatal injuries and both have been pronounced dead on the scene by the Larimer County Coroner.
Currently the age and identities of the deceased are unknown.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol's Accident Reconstruction Team.

Date: 6-19-09
Time: 10:40 P.M.
Location: Eastbound Larimer County Road 42C .6 miles west of Larimer County Road 21.

On 6-19-09 at approximately 2:19 P.M. Troopers responded to Larimer County Road 42C .6 miles west of Larimer County Road 21. A silver/ black 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on LCR 42C just west of LCR 21. The vehicle approached a right hand curve and went off the north side of the roadway. The Honda started to roll, ejecting the driver and passenger. The Honda came to rest on its wheels facing south leaning against a jersey barrier off the north side of the roadway.

The driver has been identified as Matthew Northrup, 25 of Ft. Collins, CO. Northrup sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Larimer County Coroner.
A female passenger has been identified as Sara C. Smith, 28 of Ft. Collins, CO. Smith sustained fatal injuries and was also pronounced dead on the scene by the Larimer County Coroner.

Alcohol, drugs and speed are unknown factors at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
