On 6-4-09 at approximately 6:00 P.M. Troopers responded to the intersection of Colorado 14 and Colorado 257.
A grey 1990 Ford Taurus was traveling northbound on Colorado 257 and a white 1999 Buick Century was traveling eastbound on Colorado 14. The Ford proceeded from the intersection that was regulated by a stop sign and was struck in a broadside manner by the Buick. The Ford, after impact came to its final rest on all wheels on the westbound lane of Colorado 14. The Buick, after impact went off the north side of the road and came to final rest on all wheels.
The restrained driver of the Ford has been identified as Mary N. Gonzales, 74 of Ft. Collins, CO. Gonzales sustained injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. and was later pronounced dead by an attending medical physician.
A restrained passenger within the Ford has been identified as Julie A. Jimenez, 65 of Ft. Collins, CO. Jimenez sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies.
The restrained driver of the Buick has been identified as Rebecca J. Coria, 54 of Windsor, CO. Coria sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies.
A restrained passenger within the Buick has been identified as Marvin Smith, 51 of Severance, CO. Smith sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies.
Alcohol, drugs and speed are unknown factors at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
