FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date: 02-12-2009 Time: 9:45 a.m.
On February 12, 2009 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Colorado State Troopers responded to a fatal crash on northbound Interstate 25 at milepost 174 in Douglas County. A black Suzuki Aerio was northbound in a sweeping right corner. The Suzuki traveled off the right side of the road. The Suzuki began sliding broadside for a short distance and started to roll. The driver was ejected as the vehicle rolled. The Suzuki came to stop on its top.
The unrestrained female driver from Colorado Springs, Colo sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Douglas County Coroner.
The crash and subsequent investigation led to a closure of northbound Interstate 25 Frontage Road for approximately 5 hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing factors.
Next of kin have not been notified.
