How much would the 800 band suffer with the antenna mounted on a ground plane kit for VHF/UHF?

Too many variables to say for sure but with good elevation I don't think it would suffer much. I use the Larsen 150/450/800 in a mobile setting and receive 800 just fine

There should be no notable affect, as a ground plane is minimum size thing. The VHF ground plane is much larger than 800 MHz requires.
