How does the Larsen - Tri Band VHF, UHF, 800 MHz antenna work in the aircraft band?

Signals on the a/c bands are usually pretty strong thanks to the altitude of the planes themselves. If you are close enough to the airport to hear the ground stations the little triband antenna should work reasonably well. I use one on my car. If you listen more or less exclusively to air band, get a quarter wave whip. Otherwise the tri bander will do fairly well.

As Bob said they work reasonably well in their respective bands. I've used one for over 10 years with no complaints.

Yup, it works good. But if your only going to listen to the air band I would get a dedicated VHF only antenna.
