A couple of months ago, I started hearing a lot of static from my Uniden scanners when monitoring PD channels. Specifically, the LCPD channels on the Las Cruces EDACS system.

I was wondering what might have changed (lots of possibilities there), then last night, I noticed that the Las Cruces P25 system has been added to the database.

I don't know if that has anything to do with the static, but I programmed the P25 site frequencies into my BCD325P2, and started hearing LCPD right away.

(Note that the P25 frequencies appeared previously in the database as LCNs 08 through 12 on the EDACS site.)

The Talkgroup IDs are currently exhibiting a pattern: To compute the P25 ID in decimal format, add 11000 to the decimal EDACS ID.

I haven't heard anything from LCPD on P25 in at least twenty-four hours! Court House Security seems to be on 11319, and there was occasional traffic from Utilities, and Radio Shop tests earlier in the week, but it's been otherwise quiet.

EDACS seems to be operating as usual, though.

LCPD was back on P25 this morning, Tuesday, February 24, 2026. There was also lots of activity on other talkgroups like Solid Waste (11456) and Utilities (11450). I don't recall hearing Roadrunner Transit (11323), though. (That talkgroup can get crazy.)

Midafternoon, Radio Shop tests were all over the air. I heard at least one test that came over both EDACS and P25, but I wasn't monitoring closely enough to evaluate how many tests aired on both systems.
