Las Vegas Helo Control Frequency

For those monitor radio listeners who live or visit the greater Las Vegas area you might enjoy listening to 123.820 MHz as this is the frequency that is normally used to coordinate the flight activity of all helos in the area. This includes sight-seeing, news media, Metro Police, and other helos that operate in the area. Helo pilots come on the frequency and ask the FAA air traffic controller for permission to fly in a specific direction and sometimes the reason is given.

It's because I just hit a jackpot :lol: :lol: . I always make it a point to take a helo ride on vacation. I've been up over approx. 20 places. Hard to pick a favorite, but Yellowstone was cool. I had a female pilot in a little Robinson helo (aka eggbeatter), fly me over the strip in Vegas, and she hovered over the show at Treasure Island for 5 minutes. It was supposed to be a ?10 minute flight, but lasted 20. This was maybe 6 years ago, and I think only cost about $75. The Robinson is a TINY bird, but my female pilot was great! I have pictures, but there not digital, or I would post some. On second thought, I may have some digital pics from a helo ride at Mount Rushmore.

I was at the bell desk at Bellagio 3 weeks ago when the bell captain answered a call from a guest inquiring about some of the Grand Canyon Helo tours. One was $350 to fly out there, hover around and fly back. The other was (i think) $475 to fly out, land, walk around and then fly back. It would be way cool to do it, but it is way freakin' expensive! I saw it a few years ago from somewhere around 30,000 ft and it was neat looking, but it would be more fun to see it a little closer :wink:
