"Last edited by" feature?

I have noticed after editing a few of my posts that there is a link at the bottom of my post that links to pre-edited post.

On some posts that link is not there. Is that based on whether someone has viewed that thread since my post? Just a hunch

Correct, if you edit it fast enough it won't show an edit. I want to say it's 60 seconds, but I am not sure.

In addition to the time element, I am pretty sure that if anyone views the post or a notification is emailed (for those subscribed), then your edit note is put there. If you beat any of those items (and I think the time element is more tied to the notification email for subscribed users) then no note is placed.
