Ok..firmware 3.0.2 has zero reception...so I installed 3.0.1. Only a slight improvement. Two questions may help...
1. On P-25 systems, where no rebanding has occurred, do I need to do anything with the band plan for each system?
2. If I reset the radio, using the reset function in the manual, does it just dump your programming, or will it revert to the original firmware too?
Thank you in advance!
1. On a "true P25 system", where the system type says something along the lines of "Project 25...", there's no band plan that needs to be entered, with the exception of a very few govt/military systems. I believe, from your past posts, you're talking about this
system, right? If that's correct, you would not need a band plan, even when/if the system is rebanded. It is a Project 25 system.
2. The oft mentioned "three finger salute" (holding down the 2, 9, & Hold keys, while powering up the scanner to reset it) will clear the memory, & set search & other settings back to default, but it cannot default the firmware back to a previous version.
Don't know if you've tried this. One thing that came up a few times on some of the firmware upgrades in the past, was that something in the process made a working system no longer work correctly. In those cases, apparently, it somehow corrupted the system info during the process. Have you tried reloading your systems after doing the firmware install? May not make a difference, but would only take a few minutes to try.
At the time the version 3.xx series firmware was released, there was only one actual P25
system in this area (there were a couple of mixed mode systems, not Project 25). There are several now, and more coming. However, I had no trouble with my 396T, hearing the system, after upgrade. So, I'm at a bit of a loss trying to figure out why your's is not working.
