Greetings all, can anyone confirm the latest firmware update for the Tidradio TD-H8? Their website shows 230923, which if I am decoding correctly, means it's been exactly one year since the last update was released. Other Tidradio's e.g. TD-H3 have had multiple firmware releases in the last few months. So, either the firmware is very stable, with zero issues, or there's a new release in the works coming soon. Thanks in advance for your comments.

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

The TD-H8’s I received yesterday shipped with 290923 installed.
the link should take you to a Model List just pick your and download the file. Unzip and check the name of the .bin file. You are decoding the name right.unless I have a problem I don’t plan to do a firmware update as there is always a chance of bricking the radio. I seen one YouTuber that bricked one and never successfully updated the second despite whittling the cable connector for better contact. The second YouTuber was successful straight off. The difference he actually followed the instructions in the ReadMe file that’s part of the compressed download package. 290923 was released during the production of the second tuber’s successful video. There are some 3rd party firmware packages floating around.

I went ahead and checked walkietalkiesoftwaredotcom and 290923 is the latest firmware version available. The download package also includes a program to bump up the transmit wattage on the Low power setting. I have seen a video where the Low setting was <200 Milliwatts But the firmware version wasn't mentioned.
