Hello. I've done a search and come up empty here. Can anyone give me the latest version numbers of firmware for this FTM-300D radio? I just bought this radio new and would like to compare the latest firmware version to this radio. If it's already loaded with the latest it will save me installing Windoz on a drive just so I can check. :)

Thank you!

I'd check the files section of the FTM-300D listing on Yaesu's website.

At the Owner's Corner you can register your radio, create a user name/password, check on and download any firmware updates. All simple to do.

You could download the file from Yaesu's website, extract the .ZIP file, examine the contents, and get an idea of the version number.

You can also see the date encoded in the name of the file that you download. FWIW, the file that I downloaded this morning appears to be identical to the file that I downloaded 2 years ago.

Maybe Yaesu can revise the firmware so whenever I tune through my memory channels it doesn't stop dead and will roll over back to the beginning.

Or is that too much to ask...

Even though Yaesu has a contact form on their website and lists email addresses, anecdotal info says you'll get better response if you call them:

Hey everyone.. thanks for the responses. Yes, embarrassing that I didn't open up that compressed file to see the PDF with their version numbers... lol My apologies! This radio was indeed loaded with the "latest" firmware. I wish there would be another one in the future giving the unit the same easy DTMF autodialer that the their FT-2980R has. But that's another story for another time... :p :) Thanks!

Thanks, I've reached out before and got nothing but crickets.

Plus I'm in VE-land so they probably don't give a flying fig about my feedback.

When I asked someone about that, they said "it's a feature"....same as the explanation I got for the lack of scan banks vs the stuff they have for memory groups and stuff. If you scan from the mic it loops back around then you can stop it and scroll back but it's not gonna "loop" back from the last channel to channel 1 again by using the knob.

Hi. I already did that, and unfortunately they give nothing away for the version numbers in their file names. I guess you have to install and fire up their software before it tells you what you are about to load onto your radio. Thanks.
On the FTM-300 page on the Yaesu website, under the FILES tab, the fourth line from the bottom is a link to a document that describes the latest firmware information including the version numbers. Click on it and it will open a pdf.
