The initial phases of LATIE are scheduled to begin in 06, with completion by 2010 at the latest. It will be a primarily 700 MHz Motorola ASTRO 25 system, with patches and links to all the current systems statewide. It will be completely compliant with all APCO-P-25 guidelines, and also be fully interoperable with every system in the state, with proposed patches to AR's TRS, and MS DPS when and if we get our heads screwed on straight with our plans for a new Statewide System. Yes it will be a fully digital system. No there is currently NO scanner made that can trunk track 700 MHz.. *YET*....

The main phases of the LATIE plan are waiting on both rebanding- for conversion of parts of the current 800 MHz system to ASTRO, and for Television to completely vacate the 700 MHz bandwidths....

Users will include all the current users of the state's 800 system, CN/IC Security, Entergy Security, and every parish will have a patched in console.

LATIE and PRO 96

Will the PRO 96 with win96 be able to monitor this system? I believe that win96 allows you to use 700mhz.

I don't think that the 97 will trunk track on the 700 band? But I could be wrong? The new BCD396T coming out late summer is supposed to support 700 band trunking.

The 96/2096 will NOT trunk 700 properly... the 396 should do nicely,.. and there is a rumored GRE in the works that will do 700, and will iether be updatable for the new plans for 800 after rebanding, or will be set up and marketed after rebanding... Keeping ears open on that one...
