Watch K-9 teams in action, see the bomb squad sniff out danger using special equipment and meet SWAT teams at Law Enforcement Day at the Park 2008 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Beach Park.
And while you’re there, have free hot dogs on Kern County finest.
Kern County Sheriff's Department and Bakersfield Police Department are hosting the event as a way for the public to meet the men and women in area law enforcement, and see what they do everyday.
Also featured Saturday will be gang units, hostage negotiators, off-road vehicle teams, search and rescue, motorcycle units and crime prevention units. The sheriff's air support unit will also be performing a special demonstration.
Beach Park is at 21st and Oak streets in downtown Bakersfield.
