Hey, I am reprogramming my scanner since I just moved down here and I was wondering for the Lower Colorado River system if I needed to have all the frequencies put in to just listen to Guadalupe stuff, or can I just put in the Guadalupe sites frequencies? Im from southeast PA so it was so much easier programming trunked systems since every county had a different system.

The Guadalupe County sites are generally all you need for Guadalupe County. If you live on the edge of the county, units may affiliate with sites in the adjacent county. What is your closest city or town? What scanner and programming software are you using?

I live in Cibolo, so I was going to program Shertz/Cibolo and the Guadalupe County fire since im going to volunteer for Marion once my Certs get sent down here. Scanner is a bcd996p2 and software is proscan.

Considering your location, the Cibolo site may be all you need for Cibolo and Shertz. For the Marion area, you may want to include the Seguin site also. The Kingsbury and Hickory Forest sites are some distance away. The fewer sites you scan, the less of your local radio traffic you will miss. The Live Oak site in Bexar County also covers your area.

Welcome to the area,

I would keep live oak for sure in the site list. I have noticed that I have trouble getting Cibolo to lock on with my 325P2 when I am over by Schertz Pkwy and 35 area. Live oak always comes in fine and carries the Guadalupe talk groups. In fact I caught an undocumented GCSO TG <8021> today on live oak this afternoon.
