Is anyone using sdrtrunk - the sdr application- to monitor the LCRA system? I have used sdrtrunk, DSDPlus and op25 with various SDRs. I prefer sdrtrunk for a number of reasons. It at most times works wonderfully. I have used sdrtrunk with the RTL-SDR and the Airspy Mini. I have used it on Windows 10 computers and on Ubuntu 18 LTS. On occasion it will lock on to an "Event" or transmission. It will indicate it is receiving it, it will display talk group, radio i.d., channel and all the related info including the time and duration. But the audio display panel will not show the Talk Group or Alias and there is NO AUDIO. Additionally and as expected, if I am recording, there will be no recording. It is baffling.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I can be monitoring the same system with a conventional hardware radio such as the Uniden BCD536HP and can hear the transmission. I have also used the program "op25" on another SDR as well as "DSPLus" and both setups will copy the traffic but not sdrtrunk. I also have tried to use sdrtrunk on another nearby LCRA site with the same problem. It is totally baffling. Is there something unique in the LCRA system that could be conflicting with sdrtrunk? Otherwise sdrtrunk is a great performer.

I believe I figured it out......

If you are interested in SDR and want to LCRA both op25 and sdrtrunk are awesome. Neither are plug and play and op25 takes alot of tinkering but both are fun and good.

LCRA RADIO IDs - Is anyone else monitoring the LCRA network with Pro96Com and tracking radio IDs with who (or at least which agency) they are associated with like the list below (Buda FD):

8310012 BD FD ENG31 MOB
8310013 BD FD SQ33 MOB
8310014 BD EMS M35 MOB
8310015 BD FD TRK31 MOB
8310016 BD FD SQ31 MOB
8310017 BD FD CM32
8310018 BD FD 8310018
8310019 BD FD CM31 PORT
8310020 BD FD 8310020

If so, would you be willing to share/collaborate on trying to consolidate a master list?

I am on the far north side of the network (NW Austin) and am only able to get radio traffic from mostly Hays county but I am getting occasional traffic from Gillepsie, Guadalupe, Kendall and a few others (Metrocom area)...I get the IDs but they are pretty hit and miss when they come up on the sites where I live.

I am also seeing quite a few more talk groups coming up but it takes a while to determine who they belong to.. knowing the radio UIDs comes in handy where I can at least peg an agency against a new TGID.

If you are willing to share, hit me up via PM and I can send you what I have for LCRA.

Lago Vista PD Update - captured some law enforcement radio traffic on TGID 6006 back in November that referred to "Boggy Ford" as a street address and the radio identifiers used were "700"s, which I confirmed with rbarker as the radio IDs used on the air by Lago Vista PD back when they were in the clear-so I'm pretty sure this is a match with 2 data points. The 1600xx (field UIDs) and 169000 (dispatch UID) are all OpenSky UIDs so 6006 is most likely a patch TGID between OpenSky and P25. I submitted this to RR as a update, not sure if they will take it since its not 100% confirmed but wanted to pass along for anyone else to listen in and see if they capture anything else also.

Last I heard LCRA was in the process of trying to get all public safety agencies that were on the OpenSky side moved over to the P25 system. This was a couple of years ago. Most are at least patched now with a good amount already moved over. Some Law Enforcement that have moved over are encrypted. San Marcos PD for example.

City of Buda Public Works Update - Last month I saw a new batch of radios with Hays County UIDs (8310944-8310974) added to the system and heard LCRA testing them on some of the LCRA radio test talk groups. Today it sounded like they went into production at 6:30am. Everyone on the radio is using first names, mostly PW traffic but occasionally "Buda base", and a few locations in the City of Buda were referred to on TGID 5502 which firmed up who they worked for. TGID 5502 appears to be their primary channel. I submitted this to RR already but afterwards heard 2 of the radios chatting on TGID 5512. I checked my logs and found this new batch of UIDs also affiliating with the following nine new TGIDs:

5502 - Buda public works primary
5501
5506
5508
5512 - radio traffic
5515
5516
5517
5525

I have only heard radio traffic on 5502 and 5512 so far and only from this new batch of UID radios. I have not submitted the rest yet to RR but these are probably all Buda public works TGIDs for anyone else monitoring that wants to confirm.

I'm seeing a few patches with new talkgroups that aren't identified:

10501 is patched with 1001 LCRA Testing. The 10XXX series of talkgroups is not in use yet anywhere so this will probably be a new county and/or agency/ISD.

6553 is patched with 5652 Hays County Fire Ops 6. The 65XX talkgroups are interoperability, so it is possible that these may have something to do with the Greater Austin/Travis RRS due to proximity.

That is probably a patch to GATRRS D1 AT OP 06 to allow Travis County Fire Rescue (ESD 11) to talk to Kyle/Buda FD on an Ops Channel for one of their brush/structure fires this week

A couple of observations from the Nacogdoches site:

8501 Gillespie County SO was active on the site. I hear this one come across nearly every site I cross. I think someone in the LCRA radio shop has a special interest in Fredericksburg activity.
Also, GCI-4 was active and had some relief operations from somewhere.
Locally, NCSO, NPD, and SFAPD were active with all system radios, while I heard EMS on VHF only and NFD was on VHF with patches only to the LCRA.

I hear 8501 Gillespie County SO pretty consistently along with some Fredericksburg EMS TGIDs on the Dripping Springs site also.

Careflite 7 is a new Medivac based out of Burnet Airport for now but soon to move to Buchanan Dam when it's ready. I just heard what sounded like a dispatcher talking to them on LCRA P25 Spicewood tower. I'm looking for the talkgroup they might be using. They will be Serving Burnet and Llano County.

I'm not absolutely sure but I believe I found Careflite 7 on talkgroup 6558. They were responding to a call in Blanco Co and were running into bad weather and asking their dispatcher to contact Blanco Co to let them know they were trying to fly around the storm. They are still based out of Burnet, Tx airport.

I have been noticing recently, that all traffic appearing on Cibolo, Seguin, and Hickory Forest sites is now Phase two only. I have no longer seen traffic from Schertz or Cibolo units active on any of these sites.
