Loudoun County, Virginia- On Sunday the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia Bloodhound Search and Rescue Association will hold their 17th annual training seminar for man trailing bloodhounds in Loudoun County.
The seminar, held July 13th through the 18th at the Institute Farm in Aldie, VA, will provide training to these important members of law enforcement and volunteer search and rescue groups who will be trained to provide vital assistance at crime and search and rescue scenes. During this time period, groups of K-9 handlers along with their bloodhounds will be training throughout Loudoun County including Aldie, Middleburg, Ashburn and Leesburg.
The attendees will receive approximately forty hours of classroom training and fieldwork. The purpose of the training is to give bloodhound handlers and their hounds the best possible training so that their utilization will greatly benefit the citizens of their state and surrounding areas.
Over 35 handlers from around the country and as far away as Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Brazil will attend the training sessions that will take place in Leesburg, Aldie, and Middleburg. Residents can expect to see some of the bloodhounds with their handlers training throughout the week in different areas of the county.
The co-host of the event, the Virginia Bloodhound Search and Rescue Association, provides continuous training and education for bloodhounds, handlers, and support personnel to improve and develop capabilities to insure competent and capable Bloodhound teams.
