Leavenworth or Quinault (road trip)

I am considering a trip with family to either Leavenworth or Quinault.. From the scanner radio hobby stand point,which would be more fun to monitor?

Quinalt has a casino, and the ocean beaches attract a lot of tourists and the attendant problems. Leavenworth would be great listening if there was a forest fire nearby, otherwise the amount of traffic would be about as much as Quinalt.

Your not going to get much radio traffic going to Quinalt.
The Casino itself is actually in Ocean Shores, not Quinalt itself. Its about 40 miles separated. Grays Harbor Co. Police / Fire Traffic isnt much these days and is on Narrow Band now and the officers themselves can barely reach dispatch but only have one resident Deputy up in that area. Ocean Shores traffic picks up a little but is mostly traffic stops

If the weather is better, or it is a 4th of July weekend that would be a totally different story

Lot of train traffic near Leavenworth. BNSF uses a control link 160.500 which repeats the road channel of 161.100 so one can hear trains from the tunnel to Quincy

We have finalized our plans for a trip. It will be the first week of May ..Our destination

That would be a good place to go I would do Ocean Shores in the summer then there would be more traffic.
LongBeach would be a better place for police activity
