Hello,

Have a SDRPlay RSPdx, and a simple end fed long wire ant. outside.

Still fighting the "noise" I am receiving on 2 to 3 MHz AM all the time.
Have done the plug and unplug routine. Will keep at it.

Just curious about this, though:

What is the typical noise spectrum, and freq's, emitted by a "typical" LED light ?

Same question for a Fluorescent light ?

BTW: Are there any "known" military or governmental "emitters" in the 2 to 3 MHz range ? (U.S. or elsewhere)

Thanks,
Bob

Could you post a screen shot of your SDRUno waterfall showing the pattern? I have quite a bit of interference here and am also curious about what it is. I am located just a few miles north of US Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.

Here are a few of what I see:

Hi,

Tried to Attach my screenshot, but I guess too large.
Will try to simply include a pix of it in this reply.
If you don't see it, let me know and I'll try something else.

Oops! We ran into some problems.
The uploaded file is too large for the server to process.--

Your Server ? Have a regular eMail that might accept it ? Or,...?

Have more or less come to the conclusion that the noise I see is external, but not 100% sure.
Thinking, "perhaps", mil or governmental ?
It's all the time, from 2 to 3 MHz am.
Have a SDRPlay RSPdx. Wondering if I am overloading it with too much Gain, or perhaps there
s some bleed over from some quite strong normal am broadcast stations about 10 miles away. I'm just outside of Boston.

Will try to figure some other way of sending pix; give me a day or two.

Wish my noise floor was as low as yours !

Stay in touch, and stay well, Bob

I'm curious if you located the source of your noise problem, I haven't. My noise is quite erratic, sometimes overnight it isn't there at all on 40 meters, sometimes it's at a low level, but usually it's quite bad. 80 and 160 meters follows suite but isn't as pronounced. Interestingly I have very little interference at the lowest frequencies, I can receive WWVB 24 hours a day (although weaker when the sun is up of course) on my RSPdx, my Yaesu FT-891 cannot hear it under any conditions. I guess RadioReference still isn't allowing you to post screen shots. I wonder if our interference pattern looks the same.

Hi,

No luck.
Still trying to track down.
I tried attaching a photo a while back, but I guess it didn't work.

Send me your eMail, and I'll do it the old fashioned way.

Stay well,
Bob rgsrose@comcast.net
