Patch "sounds" like garbage!
As far as LEERN, we still use it here in SE Ohio (District 9)...OSP Post 40 does a morning radio check/roll call of all of the patrol posts & 911 Centers (the ones that have LEERN). Gallia, Hocking and Vinton 911 Centers all participate in the daily checks.
Post 27 still has their VHF LEERN base in operation. It's in a tower site separate from the MARCS equipment....

I agree with Tom on "patched" radio traffic !!! We use Zetron radio consoles that have that capability. We've used it frequently for the GFD & Gallia EMS (Low band to Hi band) If the users don't know "how to talk on a patch" it don't work well at all !!!wa8pyr said:
