Can anyone give me info. on fire tones.The page out tones for fire and EMS work on my old scanner but will not work on my RS Pro 197.any help?

Hello,

Buffalo Ambulance Page out/talk to base is 155.4000, PL tone to search,
Johnson Co FD page out/talk 155.2200, PL tone to search,
I have City fire Page out 154.1450, PL tone to seach and attenuate.

For SO Primary it is 154.3250 This is the windy tower that works well near Buffalo, 155.0700 is Direct talk/talk around, and 155.6100 is a repeater used around Kacey.

Johnson county Search & Rescue uses the NASAR Channel 155.1600 which is what you posted but their should be no pl tone.

I asked the same question about the fire tone outs here. Turns out the tones are sent without the PL tone encoding, so the -197 mutes them. The following voice messages are sent with PL tone, thus heard on the -197. Maybe that is the case with your area. If so, you'll have to change the setting to CSQ, not PL, if you want to hear the tones. HTH.

Correct, the right Squelch mode that I use and leave in seach to get the page tones here is CTCSS
