I posted the other day about a Jefferson county EMS unit spreadsheet i was creating. Well in addition to that im working on a historical project too. Now im fairly familiar with the 4 digit system. A few counties still use it but Jefferson & Bullitt Counties have ditched it.
Anyway, im mainly just trying to compile a list of department numbers used. I know there’s a few duplicates like 33 being Jtown & Shelby County FD. Ik some areas that use it but specific departments do that (Shelbyville FD). Here is the ones i have so far, if anyone knows additional departments i missed (theres a lot) please lmk.
11 - Highview
12 - Harrods Creed
13 - An oldham FD
14 - an Oldham FD
16 - Lyndon ?
22 - PRP
20 - Anchorage
26 - St Matts
31 - Mt Washington?
33 - Jtown & SCFD
40 - Lake Dreamland ??
45 - LaGrange
50 - Camp Taylor
5? - Lebanon Junction
54 - South Oldham
60 - Black Mudd???
64 - JC Special ops?
66 - JC Special ops?
71 - Fern Creek
75 - Eastwood?
80 - Okolona
81 - Zoneton
90 - Fairdale
99 - Middletown & Anchorage-Middletown
I wasn’t really following until right around the time Jefferson County made the change 3 or so years ago. So im missing a lot. Also ISO of oddities. Ik the third digit indicated unit type, but there were oddities like 6 being tankers but in Jefferson County some Dry Trucks used 6. 7 was also used for AMFEMS’ Hazmat wasn’t it?
Also completely unrelated to this but still regarding historical stuff, does anyone know which department had the last volunteers? Ive seen ppl say Fairdale & Fern Creek still have vollies but that does not seem to be true. Ik Fairdale & PRP still have part time only stations.
Thanks for any info - Kam
